Find Out Why Amazon’s New Show ‘Black America’ Is Making Racist Heads EXPLODE Across Internet

On Tuesday, Amazon sent shock waves through southern “trailer communities, “confederate pride” clubs, and Trump rallies across the country with the announcement that they are producing a new series called “Black America.” The show mixes the hot button issue of “slavery reparations” with the growing alt-history genre made famous by shows like Amazon’s “The Man In High Castle.”

In the show, black Americans were given three southern Southern states after the civil war as a form of reparations, and from there the former slaves start their own sovereign nation completely independent from the U.S.

“It envisions an alternate history where newly freed African Americans have secured the Southern states of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama post-Reconstruction as reparations for slavery, and with that land, the freedom to shape their own destiny,” reports Deadline Hollywood. “The sovereign nation they formed, New Colonia, has had a tumultuous and sometimes violent relationship with… the United States… Today, after two decades of peace with the U.S. and unprecedented growth, an ascendant New Colonia joins the ranks of major industrialized nations on the world stage as America slides into rapid decline.”

“Southern Pride” fans were probably further triggered by the news that “Boondocks” creator Aaron McGruder will be producing the series. For those unfamiliar with the comic strip turned cult animated hit, you can check out some hilarious scenes featuring McGruder’s infamous conscious protagonist, Riley, here.

Earlier this year HBO announced their own upcoming alt-history series titled “Confederate,” which reimagines a world where the Confederates won the Civil War. Naturally, Confederate lovers were offended that black people or anyone else took offense to the premise of the show.

And of course, leave it to the king of the hate mongering right-wing media assholes, Rush Limbaugh, to encapsulate the alt-right’s cynical dismissal of those offended by a show in which slavery never ended.

However, Trump supporters and Confederate loving racist across the internet had a very different reaction upon learning about a show that hypothesized what would have happened had the U.S. paid reparations to former slaves (like they promised). Taking to social media to voice their intense displeasure.

But, while the childish insults and tantrums of triggered racists on the internet may be amusing to read, don’t think for one second that those words could never be taken into action should a black community in America ever begin to become self-sufficient and prosperous.

Most people have never heard of “Black Wallstreet,” a thriving African American community started around the turn of the 20th century, only to be abruptly destroyed by an angry white mob in 1921. Black Wallstreet, known formally as Greenwood, Oklahoma was the wealthiest community in the state during its heyday.

It’s said that capital circulated for over two months before going leaving the prosperous black community. They had black owned banks, theatres, schools, churches, law firms, a police station and fire department. The residents consisted of blue collar workers as wells as doctors and lawyers. There was no “black on black” crime epidemic to speak of, and today the community would most likely be one of the richest in America had it not been for the machinations of one racist news paper chief. Don’t ever think racists are just “all talk.” Racism is real, and those who subscribe to it will resort to murder if they fear non-whites are threatening their “way of life.”
