Male Senators Threaten Female Counterparts For Opposing Trumpcare

The modern Republican party is full of misogyny. It’s gotten even worse now. Today, Senator Buddy Carter (R-GA) said this about President Donald Trump’s attack on Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for refusing to vote for Trumpcare:

“I think it’s perfectly fair, let me tell you somebody needs to go over there to that Senate and snatch a knot in their ass.”

“Snatch a knot” is a slang term for physically assaulting someone. Here is the clip of him saying it:

The full quote is:

“Lemme tell you, somebody needs to go over there to that Senate and snatch a knot in their ass. I’m telling you, it has gotten to the point where — how can you say I voted for this last year but I’m not gonna vote for it this year. This is extremely frustrating for those of us who have put so much into this effort.”

These awful comments come just a few days after another legislator said he fantasized about dueling with the female Senators who opposed Trumpcare.

Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) said:

“Some of the people that are opposed to this, there are some female senators from the northeast. If it was a guy from south Texas I might ask him to step outside and settle this Aaron Burr-style.”

Aaron Burr was the Senator who famously killed Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton in a duel.

So now Republicans want to kill the people who oppose them?! It’s absolutely disgusting.
