Robert Jeffress is pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, which has over 12,000 members. He’s also a frequent guest on Fox News and just loves to attack Democrats on any number of issues.
In 2014, Jeffress wrote that he believed President Obama was ushering in the reign of the Biblical Antichrist with his support of equal rights for LGBT Americans:
“While I am not suggesting that President Obama is the Antichrist. The fact that he was able to propose such a sweeping change in God’s law and still win reelection by a comfortable margin illustrates how a future world leader will be able to oppose God’s laws without any repercussions.”
Hey, Reverend Douchenozzle, we don’t run this country by “God’s law.” We use a Constitution. The Founding Fathers were very clear on this.
Jeffress also had this to say about Obama:
“I’m not saying President Obama is the antichrist. In fact, I’m sure he’s not, because the antichrist is going to have higher poll numbers.”
And yet this same intolerant faux Christian is now saying we need to tone down the harsh political debate in the United States. The shooting of Steve Scalise and others, he believes, has shown how dangerous vitriolic speech can be in the political arena:
“This appalling act of violence highlights the fact that the unrelenting demonization of our legitimately elected political leaders could lead to tragedy, and I refer particularly to the mainstream media, our universities, and to Hollywood. Now is the time to tone it all down, embrace real tolerance, report objectively, and stop provoking our nation to conflict.”
In other words, Pastor Hypocrite wants us to stop saying bad things about anyone on the right that we disagree with. Which leads me to wonder: Where the fuck was all of his fake concern when he was railing against the previous administration?
