On Saturday, Melissa McCarthy reprised her popular role as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer (a.k.a “Spicy”).
This week Spicer tried to justify “President” Donald Trump’s weak and pointless missile strike on a mostly-empty Syrian airbase by calling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad worse than Hitler.
“I think when you come to sarin gas … (Hitler) was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing,” Spicer said. “I mean, there was clearly, I understand your point, thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that.”
But wait. It gets better.
Spicy then went on to “clarify” his remark by calling the concentration camps that Hitler used to gas Jews by the thousands, as “Holocaust centers.”
“(Hitler) brought them into the Holocaust center, I understand that. What I am saying in the way that Assad used them, where he went into towns, dropped them down to innocent, into the middle of towns, it was brought — so the use of it. And I appreciate the clarification there. That was not the intent.”
To make matters worse, Spicer’s gaff also happened to fall on the week of the Jewish sacred holiday known as “Passover.”
And after Spicy’s tough week, our friends over at Saturday Night Live decided to write up a skit featuring McCarthy’s “Spicy” character dressed in an Easter bunny costume while he issues his “apology.”
Check it out.
Melissa McCarthy and comedians like her have a patriotic duty to point out and mock all political absurdity.
Week after week we see the result’s of the 59 million stupid choices (with a little help from Vladimir Putin) that gave us a Trump presidency.
But thanks to people like Melissa McCarthy, Americans can release some of the stress that the orange mentally damaged moron occupying President Barack Obama’s office puts us under week after week.
And hopefully, voters will take this administration’s incompetent governance very seriously when it comes time to vote in 2018 and 2020.
