A boycott of the world’s leading pasta maker, Barilla, after the Chairman of the company, Guido Barilla, came out with a statement against the Gay community.
Guido, Guido, Guido haven’t you realized yet that people are aware how cheap it is to make pasta and how your sub par company is ripping them off anyways? Now, however, we have a really good reason to tell you and your family to go fuck yourselves.
Barilla, unfortunately is a quarter of the pasta sales in the United States and at least half in Italy. Guido went on record during a radio interview stating:
I would never do an advert with a homosexual family…if the gays don’t like it they can go an eat another brand.
Not that I foresee the LGBTQ community losing a massive amount of sleep over the fact that they no longer can count on Barilla to provide their pasta needs but Guido just couldn’t stop there. During an interview with The Independent he went on to attack gay parents and adoption. The douche canoe stated:
I have no respect for adoption by gay families because this concerns a person who is not able to choose.
But don’t worry Italy is not sitting down and shrugging their shoulders over this. Equality Italia, an Italian gay rights group, said:
We accept his invitation to not eat his pasta.
The hashtag #boycottbarilla is currently trending on Twitter.
