A woman in Michigan drew a gun during an argument over a notebook. It all happened on Monday afternoon. Two women reached for the last notebook on a shelf. This led to an argument over who has the rights to the precious notebook. The argument started to turn violent with some pushing and shoving. The mother of one of the women in the altercation then drew a gun after her daughter’s hair was pulled.
Novi, Michigan, Police Detective Scott Baetens said:
“One girl was going to buy a notebook — there was one left — some pushing resulted, they began to argue who was the rightful purchaser of the notebook.”
He also said:
“…She pulled out her firearm and tells them to stop attacking her daughter while pointing the gun at them. It was a senseless act of violence all the way around.”
Police are working with prosecutors to determine whether or not it was an act of self-defense.
The mother-daughter pair ended up purchasing the notebook after the mother drew the weapon. Baetens said:
“I don’t know how they ended up with it, but in the middle of the confrontation, they ended up with it and they purchased it.”
The woman did have a valid concealed carry license, but that is no excuse. There is no need to whip out a gun in the middle of Walmart over a notebook. Yes, her daughter’s hair was pulled, but there are better ways to end a fight. Or, just go to another store and buy a damn notebook. Go to Amazon, people!
