If you haven’t already made amends with estranged family and friends, you might want to get on the ball and hurry that up, because it sure as hell sounds like President Trump is preparing to start a nuclear war with North Korea.
While in vacation at his golf New Jersey golf club Tuesday, Trump reacted to news that the North Koreans had miniaturized a nuclear warhead small enough to fit inside its intercontinental ballistic missiles, most of which can reach the continental United States. Rather than trying to ratchet down the harsh rhetoric between the two nations, Trump remarked:
“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said they will be met with the fire and fury and frankly power, the likes of which this world has never seen before.”
Something tells me every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, when they heard that, had to change their underwear.
No president–not Nixon, not Regan, not George W. Bush–openly made a statement as destabilizing as the one Trump made on Tuesday. And that’s because they understood they held the fate of hundreds of millions of Americans in their hands.
But Trump is a maniac. He’s unstable, loves to bully others, and thinks that threats make him look tough.
As if we needed another reason to replace this lunatic, he just gave us one.
