Over at Fox News, President Trump cannot do any wrong. Everything he does is perfect genius, exactly what the country needs after eight years of having a leader who was rational and sane.
Take for example former Bill O’Reilly protegé Jesse Watters, who is now stuck co-hosting the low-rated nightly Fox show known as The Five. It airs against Rachel Maddow on MSNBC and gets thrashed in the ratings, so Watters has already been assigned to a sinking ship.
Perhaps that would explain the way Watters reacted last week when it was clear that the GOP effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act was dead and buried. Also, DNC co-chair Keith Ellison had made a remark earlier in the day which raised the hackles of Trump worshipers all over the world. Ellison told National Public Radio that Trump was using Twitter for evil purposes and trying to be a dictator:
“And we fought a war of independence against somebody, King George, who was trying to do that. This is really why I’m actually kind of concerned about his use of social media, not the fact that he uses it — that’s actually a good thing. The way that he uses it, I think, is damaging to representative democracy.”
Jesse took offense at what Ellison had said, so he mused aloud on The Five that maybe it would be a great thing if indeed Trump was a dictator. And the way he said it made it sound as if it was some kind of perverted masturbatory fantasy:
“A lot of people wish President Trump was a dictator, maybe we could repeal Obamacare. It would be a lot easier that way.”
Yeah, Watters and his right-wing cohorts at Fox News screeched for eight years that Obama was acting like a dictator, but now that it’s the mentally unstable traitor from New York, they’re perfectly cool with some fascism.
Go take a cold shower, Jesse.
