Trump Uses Tragedy In London To Promote His Bigoted Agenda (TWEETS)

This evening, two terrorist incidents occurred on the London Bridge and in the Borough Market areas of London. This was President Donald Trump’s initial response:

This was the next tweet. It was almost an afterthought:

Really, Trumplethinskin?! People are dead, and he is using this to advertise his stupid, twice failed Muslim ban.

As Romper reported:

“But, leaning into fear and hoping people buy into his ban is not only manipulative, it’s also disgusting. For the first tweet to be about banning Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States, Trump ignored the fact that the U.K. has experienced multiple attacks in the last three weeks, leaving many dead (Manchester’s concert attack being the most recent).”

Trump also attacked London Mayer Sadiq Khan. Khan’s statement said:

“Metropolitan police are responding to the horrific terrorist attack at London Bridge and Borough Market. My thoughts are with everyone affected, and I’d like to thank the brave men and women of our emergency services who were first on the scene and will be working throughout the night.”

“This was a deliberate and cowardly attack on innocent Londoners and visitors to our city enjoying their Saturday night. I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. There is no justification whatsoever for such barbaric acts.”

Trump tweeted:

Khan didn’t say that. He told citizens not to be alarmed by an increased police presence in the streets.

Trump further tweeted:

President Trump was widely criticized for his first reaction to the London incidents. He doesn’t need to be using the suffering of Londoners to advertise his travel ban.
