Yes, our current President Donald Trump is a liar. This is old news, right? We all know he lies and he does it for the sake of it – because he can get away with it.
Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, talked about why Trump lies, and it’s so hilarious… And sad, we thought we should highlight it.
Kushner, who is also the president’s senior advisor, said that Trump lied to his Republican base because he thinks they’re stupid and they will believe him.
The senior adviser’s remarks came when he was challenged about Trump’s obsessive interrogation about former President Barack Obama’s birthplace.
If you remember, during Obama’s 2008 campaign, and all throughout his presidency, he was bugged about the theories that he was not born in the United States and was therefore not eligible to be a president. If you also remember, Trump was among those who pushed that “birther” conspiracy theory against Obama.
He even claimed that he “hired” investigators in Hawaii to prove that Obama was not really born there, although the Huffington Post reported that they couldn’t find any evidence of an investigation.
Now, here is where it gets fishy. The former editor of New York Observer, Elizabeth Spiers is now claiming that Kushner, the former publisher of the paper himself told her that even Trump did not believe the “birther” lies he was spreading.
Wait, what? Are you kidding me? What the hell? That makes absolutely no sense at all.
(More after the jump.)
Major ‘SMH’ Moment Here, Donnie Boy
Spiers said that the only reason Trump is peddling it is that he knows Republicans are stupid and they’ll buy it.

“When I was the editor of the New York Observer, Kushner and I were going back and forth about how the paper should cover him,”
Spiers wrote that she was appalled by Trump’s stance that she told Kushner. She told him that she viewed the stance as cynical and racist.
To which Kushner replied:
“‘He rolled his eyes and said ‘He doesn’t really believe it, Elizabeth. He just knows Republicans are stupid and they’ll buy it.'”
It is reported that Spiers only made the revelation to prove to a right-wing blogger that Trump really was, and still is a “notorious liar.”
