In a world full of religious fundamentalists, not wanting to have sex with a holy book gets you plenty of backlash. Lucky for us, a recent study has shown a direct correlation between brain damage and religious fundamentalism.
Liberals vs. Conservatives
Liberals are known for being pretty open-minded. Unlike conservatives, we don’t fear eternal damnation when a same-sex couple has children. Aside from just not being an asshole though, that attitude may also have something to do with our prefrontal cortex.

A group of Vietnam War Veterans were recently studied. Out of the 149 participants, only 30 were healthy and without any damage to their prefrontal cortex. They all received CT scans and were asked about their religion.
Volunteers with damage to their dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) and ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) had extremely religious views.
The healthy ones did not.
Damage to the prefrontal cortex limits a person’s cognitive flexibility, which is a trait us liberals are proud of. For example, we don’t see the color red when a woman has an abortion. Religious fundamentalists, on the other hand, will do everything to force a woman to give birth.
And then cut funding that would help the baby after it’s born.
This trait is virtually necessary to survive, which is odd since conservatives love to practice survival of the fittest. If you go with the flow, you’ll probably come out okay. It’s swimming against the current that will cause you to drown.
Now with all of this being said, religion does have some benefits. It can act as a moral code and bring communities together, so long as you’re open to hearing scientific facts.
But unless you want to bring back stoning and incest, perhaps it’s time to stop taking the Bible literally.
An ancient novel full of murder, corruption, homophobia, bestially, incest & cruelty
It is often read to children on Sundays

So there you have it, folks. Scientific proof that religious fanatics are mentally ill. Be sure to see a therapist before Trumpcare kicks in, by the way.
Watch this video, and hear a mentally unstable religious fundamentalist promote misogyny.
