On Wednesday, Al Green (D-Texas) became the first member of Congress to officially call for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
Brown announced on Twitter that he was going to call for the motion on the House floor.
Today on the floor of the Congress of the United States of America, I will call for the Impeachment of the President between 9am & 10am CST.

Brown also signaled that he was calling for Trump’s impeachment on Monday when news broke of the existence of a memo written by former FBI Director James Comey alleging that Trump tried to pressure him to drop the FBI’s investigation into former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.
Trump allegedly told Comey:
“I hope you can let this go.”
Staying true to his word, Brown took to the House floor on Wednesday morning to call for the impeachment of the 45th President of the United States of America.
On Monday, Breen told KHOU Houston:
“It’s not the political expedient thing to do, this is what we must do to maintain our democracy,” Green said.
“A good many people assume that impeachment means that the President will be found guilty. It does not. Impeachment is the genesis of the process. The revelation are likely to be revealed in the Senate and that’s where the trial actually takes place.”

Brown’s call for impeachment comes at a time when more Americans feel that it’s time for Trump to be impeached. The New York Daily News reports that the latest Public Policy Polling survey indicated that 48 percent of Americans support impeachment proceedings for Trump.
It was also discovered that Trump shared highly classified information with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak during their visit to the White House.
The Washington Post reports that information Trump shared was obtained by U.S. allies and was not supposed to be shared with the Russians. Trump’s actions may have done long-lasting damage to U.S. intelligence gathering efforts as not fewer partners may be inclined to share top secret information.
Week after week, Trump continues to find new ways to fuck up. It’s time for responsible adults to stand up and remove this cancer from the White House before it’s too late.
