Hypocrite Supreme Ivanka Trump Accepts $100 Million From Saudis, UAE For ‘Women’s Fund’

During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump was highly critical of Hillary Clinton for accepting money from Saudi Arabia for the Clinton Foundation, commenting during one of the debates with the Democratic nominee:

“You talk about women and women’s rights. These are people that push gays off business — off buildings. These are people that kill women and treat women horribly, and yet you take their money. So I’d like to ask you right now. Why don’t you give back the money that you’ve taken from certain countries that treat certain groups of people so horribly? Why don’t you give back the money. I think it would be a great gesture.”

Yet now his daughter, Ivanka, has just arranged for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to donate $100 million to the World Bank’s Women Entrepreneurs Fund, an initiative proposed by the first daughter in April.

Ethically, the fact that Ivanka Trump is both a senior adviser to her father and helped drum up money for the fund means that she could directly impact decisions made on foreign policy regarding nations which have given donations. Or as some orange-tinted asshats are fond of calling it when seeking the White House, “Pay for play.”

While she was in Saudi Arabia with her father–traveling on the American taxpayer’s dime–Ivanka also met with Saudi women, including business leaders and government officials, to discuss “women’s economic empowerment.” She later described Saudi Arabia’s progress on women’s rights as “very encouraging.”

But women advocating for women’s rights in the male-dominated kingdom were critical of the first daughter, with activist Aziza al-Yousef telling the Washington Post:

“If Ivanka is interested in women empowerment and human rights, she should see activists, and not just officials.”

Instead, Ivanka spent the majority of her time sucking up to men who probably thought she should have been wearing a hijab and serving them tea.
