The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee stated Sunday that they are actually planning to investigate the delusional rants of President Donald Trump. They said they would look into these allegations as part of the Russia hacking investigation. I would like to say that these claims were met with swift bipartisan rejection. But of course that’s not how it is being handled.
The one surprising twist is that a well-known Trump puppet has publicly rejected the psycho-babble. As BBC reported:
“FBI director James Comey has rejected Donald Trump’s claim that his predecessor, Barack Obama, ordered a wiretap of his phone before he was elected US president, US media say.”
In light of the recent Wikileaks, Trumpsters are positively giddy with the thought of information released by a man currently seeking refuge in Putinland. Meanwhile, they refuse to believe cold hard facts staring them in the face.
They question the integrity of media outlets that have been trusted in America for generations.
Their on-again, off-again love affair with Comey is directly in accordance with which team he’s playing for at the moment. And thanks to the orangutan in Washington, they now believe that anonymous sources spell fake news.
Oh, the hypocrisy of it all. As Washington Post pointed out:
“It’s certainly ironic that the Trump White House — which has heavily criticized articles relying on anonymous sources — now relies on articles based on anonymous sources that cite information that has not been confirmed by any U.S. news organization. It would be amusing if it were not so sad.”
The truly creepy way that Trump worshipers follow behind him with unquestioning devotion is pathetic. It’s hard to feel for people who are that consciously ignorant.
If I am being totally honest with myself, I am quite enjoying watching the Trump administration implode. And when the dust settles, it’s going to be his supporters that are affected by his legacy. We have all learned to fight through anything thrown at us.
