The Independent Women’s Forum (IWF) presents themselves as progressives looking to help women achieve equality. So why are they giving an award to one of the biggest misogynists?
The IWF is a conservative group that lures in feminists with their progressive name, then slowly reveals their misogynistic agenda through sugar coated words. So of course they gave Vice President Mike Pence their annual Working for Women award last Wednesday.
The female misogynists want a leader who understands that progression is out. It’s time to turn back the clocks to when men worked and women were servants. They even believe that such drastic measures as the Paycheck Fairness Act, which requires employers to disclose why someone is paid less for the same job, causes more harm than good.
Way back in 1997, he wrote a little letter to the Indianapolis Star about feminism and said:
“For years, we have gotten the message from the mouthpieces of the popular culture that you can have it all, career, kids and a two-car garage. The numbers in this federally funded study argue that the converse is true. Sure, you can have it all, but your day-care kids get the short end of the emotional stick.”
Damn those crazy feminists who want to make their own money.
It’s not just his belief that women should be objects that caught their attention, though. He once compared women in the military to a Disney movie.
The film Mulan is about a young woman who poses as a man to get into the military, all to replace her elderly father. She gets in and fights, making females everywhere proud.
Pence didn’t care for the cartoon hero. More specifically, he didn’t like that she fell in love.
Suggesting that people can’t control themselves, he said:
“It is instructive that even in the Disney film, young Ms. Mulan falls in love with her superior officer! You see, now stay with me on this, many young men find many young women to be attractive sexually. Many young women find many young men to be attractive sexually. Put them together, in close quarters, for long periods of time, and things will get interesting. Just like they eventually did for young Mulan. Moral of story: women in military, bad idea”.
Pence getting an award for supporting women: bad idea.
You’re not a true misogynist unless you oppose abortion, regardless of the circumstance. Since the Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funding for them except for cases of rape and incest, Pence supported a bill that redefined rape as ‘forcible rape.’
To clarify, rape is the act of forcing yourself upon someone and proceeding to have sexual intercourse. That verbiage would have prohibited taxpayer money from funding abortions due to a rape.
So enjoy your fake award, Pence. You sure as hell don’t deserve a real one.
