Congressman Introduces ‘No TRUMP Act’ – No More Taxpayer Spending On Trump

President Donald Trump has been in office for almost two months. Every weekend so far he has taken trips to his Florida resort called “Mar-a-Lago.” Each of these trips costs the taxpayers $3 million for use of the planes and the Secret Service. One Congressman is looking to change this.

Oregon Rep. Earl Blumenauer’s No TRUMP Act, which stands for “No Taxpayer Revenue Used to Monetize the Presidency” Act, is mean to stop the president from using taxpayer money for his “luxuries.”

Blumenauer said this about it in a press release:

“Trump and his family are riddled with conflicts of interests. Putting a strain on government resources for Trump to hold meetings with U.S. officials at Mar-a-Lago or for the Trump children to travel the world to promote the family business are just more examples.”

“… Presidents should not financially benefit from holding the office. No taxpayer money should be spent at Trump hotels. Period.”

He is already spending more money than former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden combined. It is costing the city of New York over $500,000 per day to protect Trump Tower. President Trump used to get so mad over Obama’s trips, now he’s doing the same thing.
