Paul Caldwell is the pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and he’s on a mission to let residents in his community know that there’s “no such thing” as homosexuality.
Caldwell and other members of the church have been handing out pamphlets in their town which read:
“Does God love Homosexuals? This is a flawed question, there are no such things as Homosexuals.”
Some in Fayetteville were more than a bit upset by the handouts. Joanna McCusker commented:
“I was just offended that they would be going door-to-door in this community with that information. I think most neighbors were pretty offended.”
But Pastor Caldwell says it’s all just a big misunderstanding, and he added:
“Our church loves the LGBT community, hence the reason we have decided since Spring 2014 to reach out to them. This is just another avenue we are trying.
“To them it is simply a reminder that God loves them, and if I were to truly love them then I must tell them the truth.”
So telling them they can’t be gay because there’s no such thing as homosexuality is love? I damn sure wouldn’t want to see how they treat those they hate at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
