Abstinence Preaching Goes Mobile – ‘Save The Storks’ Targets ‘Abortion Vulnerable Women’

The GOP has been trying to take reproductive rights away from women for decades.

One particular type of facility used by these people is the “crisis pregnancy centers.” Basically, they pretend to be a women’s clinic, but all they do is berate women and bully them out of getting abortions.

Planned Parenthood said that some of these types of facilities will:

  • “may not give you complete and correct information about all your options — abortion, adoption, and parenting”
  • “may try to frighten you with misleading films and pictures to keep you from choosing abortion”
  • “may lie to you about the medical and emotional effects of abortion may tell you that you are not pregnant even if you are. This may fool you into continuing your pregnancy without knowing it. If your decision is delayed, it could make abortion more risky. It could also keep you from getting early prenatal care.”
  • “may discourage you from using certain methods of birth control that are very safe and effective”

If you are needing an abortion, make sure that the clinic is legit. You can look them up here.

Now, these anti-choice assholes have a new way to push their hateful agenda. The organization, Save the Storks, has 33 vans that travel around the country trying to stop women from getting abortions. One of them has been at the Conservative Political Action Convention (CPAC) this week.

They operate just like these “crisis pregnancy centers.” They will tell women about the dangers of abortions or give them an ultrasound. They will also give the women the option to take parenting courses.

Of course, they won’t offer any contraception. I guess they just expect us to be nuns. We deserve to keep our reproductive rights.
