Trump Goes Oprah With The F**king Guns – One For You, And You, And You

We are not implying in any way that Oprah Winfrey is a Trump supporter. See full disclaimer below.

President-elect Donald Trump has many ammosexual supporters. He was endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA) early in his campaign. They spent over $30 million in ads for the Trump campaign. They released a post-election video for their audience:

They act as if someone is going to take their rights away. The gun owners act like they are martyrs fighting for their civil rights with guns. We just want to stop the violence and put common sense gun control measures in place.

The NRA is pushing a federal law that would give concealed carry rights to everyone regardless of state lines. It would force states to recognize the concealed carry licenses of another state.

Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) introduced this bill, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017.

Adam Winkler, a law professor at the University of California-Los Angeles, said this about the bill:

“Under Hudson’s bill, a California resident who cannot get a concealed-carry permit in California can easily get one from Utah, and then carry guns in California without ever setting foot in Utah, and not for some short duration like a tourist stay, but for the rest of his life and every day. The real impact of the Hudson bill is not to protect interstate travellers. It’s to require states with restrictive concealed-carry policies to allow their own residents to carry guns.”

Trump also wants to get rid of the “gun-free zones” because of the false belief that some “good guy with a gun” can stop mass shootings. One problem: there is no evidence to back up that claim. Also, many mass shootings are murder-suicides, so shooters are not choosing the safe spaces to attack.

Also, if you listen to police training programs about mass shootings, they tell you not to go after the shooter. An innocent person could be mistaken for the perpetrator and shot by police. These training programs tell you to either escape the area if you can or hide. They are not telling you to go hunting for the shooter.

These laws are just going to make it easier for criminals to get their hands on weapons. The Republicans and the NRA are going in the wrong direction on this.
