Minimum Wage? Not When Trump’s Proposed Labor Secretary Is Finished

Donald Trump says he wants to put Americans back to work. What he neglected to say is that he wants them working at jobs that pay a dollar an hour.

Trump is expected to announce today that he has chosen Andrew F. Puzder to serve as his Secretary of Labor. Puzder is the CEO of CKE Restaurants, which operates burger chains Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. He is also very much opposed to the idea of a minimum wage, opposes overtime pay, and thinks the Affordable Care Act should be trashed.

Puzder also once commented that machines are preferable to actual human workers:

“They’re always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there’s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case.”

Remember how Trump has said he will bring back jobs that have gone to China and Mexico? Well now it seems he plans to do that by making sure American workers make less than those in other countries. It’s all part of his big plan for the United States. And that plan does not include rights for employees, just for the employer.

Enjoy your pay cut, all you morons who voted for Donnie the Tiny-Handed Liar. Pretty soon you’re gonna be eating soup made from tree bark to survive.
