Many conservatives refer to liberals as weak. They call us crybabies and tree-huggers and bleeding hearts. Welp…looks like some college conservatives are borrowing one of our concepts: safe spaces.
Safe spaces are:
“A Safe Space is a place where anyone can relax and be able to fully express, without fear of being made to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or unsafe on account of biological sex, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, cultural background, religious affiliation, age, or physical or mental ability.”
Irony alert! Now that we have an orange-creamsicle President-elect Donald Trump, conservatives in college are asking for their own safe spaces.
Amanda Deletka, a sophomore at the University of Michigan, was excited when Trump won the election. She and many other conservatives in college are saying that they don’t feel like their views are being respected.
She voted for a racist, xenophobic, pussy-grabbing tyrant. She doesn’t feel safe because people might think that she supports these ideas.
The New York Times reported:
“Conservative students who voted for Mr. Trump say that even though their candidate won, their views are not respected. Some are adopting the language of the left, saying they need a “safe space” to express their opinions — a twist resented by left-leaning protesters.
“Administrators are struggling to maintain a balance between political factions. But some college presidents have entered the fray with statements that seem more sympathetic to the left, in some cases provoking a backlash.”
Are you guys regretting that vote now? You just kicked off the apocalypse.
