Surprise, surprise! Utah is trying to pass a ridiculous new law to try and keep women from getting abortions.
Rep. Keven Stratton (R-Orem) and state Sen. Curt Bramble (R-Provo) have proposed this bill that would require doctors to tell women that a medication abortion could be undone. This procedure involves a two-pill regimen to terminate an early pregnancy.
Other states including Arizona tried to enact similar laws. Dr Ilana Addis, chairwoman of the Arizona Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists wrote:
“The problem is that so-called medical abortion reversal is not FDA approved and has no good evidence to support it.
“To have a medical abortion, a woman must take two drugs: mifepristone, followed 48 hours later by misoprostol. The advocates of abortion reversal claim that if a patient takes the first medication and wants to halt the process, then she would be referred to a physician who gives her high doses of progesterone to continue the pregnancy.”
That’s right. These Utah politicians want doctors to spread lies regarding women’s health. This is just plain dangerous. Ladies, let’s keep these idiots away from our uteruses.
